Finally, a go-to white wine from Trader Joe’s. Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc + Viognier pairs well with my spatchcocked chicken and whole chicken in the crock pot, and it’s a crisp and slightly sweet white that you can grab and go when you’re shopping at Traders.
For several years after moving to Houston from San Francisco, I found myself in a Trader Joe’s desert. None. Zero. Zilch. I was used to visiting our local TJs on Masonic Street in San Francisco (if I could wedge my car into the log jammed parking lot) for staples such as roasted almonds, lemons, olive oil and dried pasta. We finally have one in prime proximity, halfway between our house and our children’s school.
You can’t always find everything on your list at Trader Joe’s. The upside is you can speed shop (our Trader Joe’s is a lot smaller than other local stores) and find a decent amount of organic produce. Not to mention some awesome finds like delicious gourmet cheeses, canned organic beans, coconut sugar and the world’s best frozen croissants. The only section that gives me pause is the wine aisle. There are plenty of inexpensive wines, and I find myself glazing over and becoming completely indecisive when trying to choose a bottle.
After some trial and error, we’ve settled on the Pine Ridge as our go-to TJs white. It pairs perfectly with all the impulse buys I make while checking out. Did someone say matcha white chocolate?
