Round Top Week
I’m racing to get my family organized for the week and then heading to Kitchenette Farm for a couple days. Marburger Farm opens Tuesday and can’t wait to visit some of my favorite vendors and look for treasures. Here’s what’s happening for dinner this week!
SUNDAY
Round Top Antiques Week is in full swing and I want to get back to Kitchenette Farm asap! My boys have been at Penn State for a college tour and football game, so they’ll come home tired out. I’m making my favorite chili recipe with ground venison.
MONDAY
I’m headed to dinner at Rancho Pillow tonight with my friend Julie Harrah (she designs beautiful feminine dresses if you need holiday outfit inspo). I’m leaving the fridge and pantry stocked for my family!
TUESDAY
Marburger Farm! I’ll be tired out from a day of shopping, so I’m leaving an easy dinner of Marinara Chicken for my family to prep while I’m heading home. In your Instant Pot, combine 2 pounds of skinless boneless chicken thighs and a 24-ounce jar of Rao’s Original Marinara. Cook on high/manual for 8 minutes. Shred and serve over pasta or polenta topped with basil and parmesan.
WEDNESDAY
We’re celebrating the final class in my Basics II series with a wine tasting and charcuterie board class. Plus, I have an online bread class with my Smart in the Kitchen School members. For dinner, I’m making my favorite fall salad with pomegranates, apples, candied pecans and shredded collard greens and adding rotisserie chicken.
THURSDAY
I have another bread class for members tonight (we’re baking off the za’atar focaccia we made last night and topping and baking our pizzas). So naturally, tonight’s dinner will be a carb load of homemade pizza and foccacia. If you want an easy and delicious idea for a “cheater version” of homemade pizza, follow the directions in this article I did for the Houston Chronicle.
FRIDAY
My sister-in-law will be in town and we’re celebrating with Texas B-B-Q. I’m planning to pick it up across the street from where I live, but if you want an easy idea for BBQ flavors at home, make these super easy slow cooker ribs this weekend.
