A High-Protein Smoothie To Start Your Morning Right
I’ve posted this strawberry smoothie recipe once already, but I had a glitch with my recipe software. Thank you to those of you who let me know. Here’s the updated version with nutritional info calculated.
It’s Strawberry Protein Smoothie season around here. I start making smoothies regularly when it gets hot and stop around the beginning of November. It stays hot for a long time (too long?) in Houston. Lately, I’m craving a healthier, lower-sugar, higher-protein smoothie. And this Strawberry Protein Smoothie rings in at 35 grams of protein in 1 serving!
My kids prefer a simple strawberry-banana variation on repeat. When they were little, no one would touch their smoothie if I added protein powder, collagen peptides, frozen cauliflower, chia seeds or spinach. My kid’s version is a basic combo of frozen strawberries, banana, and vanilla yogurt, sometimes with a peeled mandarin orange. But over the years, we’ve evolved. Now, I can add a little avocado or frozen coconut and unflavored protein powder. Here’s my latest iteration in case your morning routine calls for a hefty protein dose, like mine.
A variation made with raspberries instead of strawberries.

In your explanation of the strawberry smoothly you mention it has 40 grams of protein, but in the nutrition section under recipe it says only 1 gram of protein. Please clarify. Thank you!

Something is being glitchy with our recipe software! It switched the nutrition content from a different recipe. But I’m getting it fixed today.

We have it fixed. I ran the nutritional software for this recipe twice to make sure we had it right! The protein amount is actually less if there isn’t Greek yogurt included, but if you add 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt you can increase the protein by 7.5 grams.
